where it all started

I always knew i wanted to be an artist.

painting, drawing, and creating was always a constant throughout my life. this lead me to get a BACHELOR'S degree in painting and drawing at california college of the arts. while not the greatest finacial decision, the experience was well worth it. I lived with my great aunts, met so many creative people, and most importantly,

i started discovering who i am as an artist.

before cca, i focused on realism and portraits. i quickly realized i needed to discover my artistic style. i started carrying around a sketchbook everywhere i went. my materials of choice were oil pastels, ink pens, and whatever markers i could find. depending on where i was i would often collage in found items, paper, or even “trash.”

i loved the process of using and reusing my resources.

After GRADUATION, i wanted to find some way to work within my community. I started my own BUSINESS, paint with syd, paint parties that come to you! Perfect for all ages, i teach a step by step painting lesson. By the end you’re GUARANTEED to have a beautiful piece of art.

This is where my teaching journey began.

Now, i’m an after school art teacher and COMMISSION artist! My COMMISSIONS range from digital designs to large scale murals.
